Do you want to learn to row or improve your rowing skills?

Rowing School is an educational trip for adults on Desolation Canyon of the Green River that want to gain skills and experience with rowing whitewater.

"Deso" is not only a magical place to spend a week but it is also an excellent teaching environment – as it begins calm and increases in intensity as we travel downstream.

You will be learning hands-on rowing our 14, 16 and 18-foot rafts with experienced guides coaching and supporting you through Class I -III whitewater.

Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience and want to polish your skills and learn new ones Apakoa’s guides will teach you as an individual.  You will receive immediate feedback and direction to help you build a solid foundation of skills.

What you can expect:

All trips are unique, but you can expect to begin the day with breakfast prepared by the guides.  On the water students will row (with opportunities for rest) with the guides teaching, giving feedback and providing for a safe learning environment.  We will stop riverside for lunch and occasional hikes.  In the evening students will unwind and take in the beauty and peace of Desolation Canyon while enjoying appetizers and dry land classes.  Savor dinner and discuss the days events, ask questions and share stories.  Then fall asleep under the stars to rest up for what the river has in store for us the next day!

Invite a friend:

If you have a friend or family member who wishes to join the trip but is NOT interested in instruction we have limited spots available for them at a reduced rate.   Please contact us for details.
